Good Nutrition on a Budget: Eating Well Without Overspending

Eating healthy doesn’t have to be expensive! This interactive workshop series is designed for older adults and the professionals who support them. You’ll discover practical tips, explore community resources, and gain confidence in creating delicious, budget-friendly meals at home. What you learn can be applied not only to your residents but also to your own daily life, giving you valuable tools to stretch food dollars, improve nutrition, and make healthy eating more accessible for everyone.



Learning Objectives:
1. Explore and apply at least three smart strategies for shopping and choosing healthy, budget-friendly foods.
2. Navigate and evaluate available benefit options, including how to access and apply for SNAP and other food assistance programs.
3. Create simple, balanced meal plans for one or two people using low-cost, nutritious ingredients.
4. Apply workshop strategies in both professional settings with residents and in their own personal lives.
