Service Coordinator NOFO
HUD released $40 million in grant funds that will be able to support and expand service coordination programs nationwide. The deadline to apply is March 14, 2024. The below details are from a HUD hosted webinar held on February 6, 2024. Please make sure to carefully review all grant requirements, eligibility, and updates before applying. Eligible Applicants Be assisted or financed through any of the following programs: - (1) Section 202 Direct Loan, 12 USC 1701q, as such section existed before the enactment of the Cranston-Gonzalez National Affordable Act
- (2) Project-based Section 8 (including Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation)
- (3) Section 221(d)(3) below-market interest rate property was designed or designated for the elderly persons or persons with disabilities and continue to operate as such. This includes any building within a mixed-use development that was designed for occupancy by elderly persons or persons with disabilities at its inception and continues to operate as such, or consistent with title VI, subtitle D of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1992 (Pub. L. 102-550). If not so designed, a property in which the owner gives preferences in tenant selection (with HUD approval) to eligible elderly persons or persons with disabilities for all units in that property.
Individuals, foreign entities, and sole proprietorship organizations are not eligible. Narratives This funding opportunity requires the submission of a maximum 25 page narrative and supportive plan that covers the following topics: - Affirmative marketing requirement, 1 page
- Experience promoting racial equity, 1 page
- Advancing racial equity, 1 page
- Affirmatively furthering fair housing, 1 page
- Description of roll of the service coordinator, 1 page
- Continuing education plan, 5 pages *Remember that attending NERSC conferences and webinars can be included in this narrative
- Supportive services plan, 10 pages
- Description of how you will meet office space requirement, 5 pages
How to Apply - Single or joint applications accepted.
- Application found on grants.gov.
- File names can only include the following characters: A-Z, a-z, 0-9, underscore ( _ ), hyphen (-), space, or period. Application attachments using any other characters will be rejected.
- You must obtain a UEI to apply on SAM.GOV.
- Application must be submitted by Thursday, March 14, 2024 by 11:59:59 PM.
- You must receive a confirmation receipt and tracking number without errors to be considered.
- Your application must be submitted through grants.gov. Please contact 800-518-GRANTS or email support@grants.gov if you have trouble submitting your application.
- Applications may be revised before the submission deadline.
- If your application is received by grants.gov before the deadline but with errors, you will have a grace period of 24 hours after the application deadline to submit a corrected, received, and validated application throughout grants.gov.
Application Selection Applications are divided into six regions: Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, West, and Expansion Only. Applications will be rated on a points system established by HUD. To be considered, you must receive 22 out of the 30 possible maximum points. Applicants who receive all 30 points will advanced to the regional lottery process. Applicants with the same overall score will be ranked based on the outcome of the lottery. Those with scores lower than 30 points will be considered only after higher scorers in their region have been funded.
