This session will help RSCs prepare to work with legal counsel to address thorny issues often associated with residents’ behavioral challenges, such as aggressive behavior or hoarding and failure to maintain the residence. The discussion will include strategies for out-of-court interventions, working with counsel to seek assistance through the courts when necessary, and strategically using reasonable accommodations to help preserve challenging tenancies.

1. Understanding how to prepare evidence and testify in support of a request for court intervention.
2. Learning about potential strategies for dealing with difficult residents in partnership with legal counsel.
3. Discussing strategic use of reasonable accommodations to help preserve difficult tenancies.
